V&A hosts 8 new plays by Synergy writers

Synergy Theatre Project invited writers to respond to the Victoria and Albert Museum exhibition Disobedient Objects and the broad theme of protest as a starting point.

Over 10 weeks in Autumn 2014 the V&A hosted as playwright Anders Lustgarten led writing classes exploring art and activism, politics and playwriting and each writer responded with their own unique short play.  Director Amy Hodge lead a professional cast who presented the plays at the V&A on Friday 9th January 2015 to an audience including exhibition visitors.

The plays were:

  • Action by J. Robinson
  • Purdey Shotgun by Frank Prosper
  • Riding The Moment by Paul Cassidy
  • Consenting Adults by Elizabeth Swan
  • Sixteen Shoes by Adrian Syn Bailey
  • Belief Systems by Pamela Chandler
  • The Turning of Maggie by Quince Garcia
  • The Commissioner by Martin Askew
