Please watch and vote for the short film here.
Cancer Cells was specially commissioned to present research findings following a 4-year study into cancer care for prisoners carried out by the NHS and Kings College. The film has been screened at the House of Lords, reaching healthcare staff, prison officers and senior decision makers across the health service and criminal justice network. It is already impacting policy, practice and future research in order to save lives in prison.
The film reveals the very human consequences of the challenges in cancer care in prisons identified by the research.
“As a nurse I was very moved and if I had been shown this film back whilst working in the hospitals and treating Prison patients, I would have thought about the care they received very differently. “ GP, HMP Bedford and Clinical Director Secured Services
